Competition

The VT CRO RoboGames team participates in the Open: Best of Show event at the international RoboGames competition. In this event, there are very few rules that limit what can be created, as long as what is created vaguely fits the category of a robot, it can compete. These robots are judged on three factors: originality, functionality, and aesthetics.

2024 - 2025 Team

Led by Chief Engineer David Bonds, former Executive Secretary, this team set out to develop a robotic dog. This robot has two overall objectives. Firstly, the custom built robotic dog will compete in the 2025 Open: Best of Show competition in San Hose, California. Secondly, the robot can also be utilized by non-engineering teams as a way to showcase VT CRO's robots, along with providing an interactive display for people attending outreach events. In a way, this robot will serve as a mascot for VT CRO in the coming years.
